The Chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Memli Krasniqi, has accused the Government of Kosovo of leaving students without textbooks for the first time after independence.
The opposition leader accused the Minister of Education, Arbërie Nagavci, of violating the law by tripling the cost of providing books for children.
Although there was no quorum to start the extraordinary session in the Assembly on Monday, Krasniqi was able to take the floor from the Speaker Glauk Konjufca.
He accused the majority of deliberately not going to the plenary session, until he asked them who they were running away from.

Today, the opposition parties have called an extraordinary session in the Assembly to discuss the provision of textbooks for primary and lower secondary students for the 2023/2024 school year.
Present in this session were seen mainly MPs from the opposition parties, while those from the government were absent.
