Fired Milan coach Paulo Fonseca could return to the bench within weeks of his dismissal, as Olympique Lyonnais are interested.
The Portuguese coach was sacked on December 30, 2024, just five months after taking over the role at San Siro. He had led the team for 24 matches, ending with 12 wins, six draws and six losses across Serie A, the Champions League and the Coppa Italia.
Replaced by Sergio Conceicao, Fonseca may not be out of work for long, as multiple sources in France, including "L'Equipe", report that he is being lined up to take over at Olympique Lyonnais, KosovaPress reported.
Rumors were already circulating and now intensify after the Ligue 1 side sacked coach Pierre Sage with immediate effect. It would be a return to France for the coach, who already did well at Lille from 2022 to 2024, before being called up by Milan.
The 51-year-old had 45 wins, 26 draws and 19 losses on the LOSC bench, reaching the quarter-finals of the League Conference.
