Puhie Demaku from this movement has said at a press conference that political influence of Diaspora after the war has been reduced as much as its role is quite insignificant, except in terms of remittances where Diaspora has a powerful role in socio-economic stability Kosovo.
She has added that despite the great political commitment and unconditional financial support that Diaspora has given over these decades it has been neglected by all current governments.
Vetėvendosje Movement considers that Kosovo Diaspora has a great potential to be, and definitely should be an active part of state building and development of Kosovo.
Demaku said that workers, money, the most educated people and professionals of Kosovo are mostly in exile. Vetėvendosje is committed that Diaspora from being an object to be turned into subject as to its country of origin and the country where it stays as guest.
Furthermore she added that Vetėvendosje appreciates Diaspora as a vital part of the people, so, it is an inherent part of the Albanian people and it is engaged to guarantee all the rights to Diaspora that are guaranteed to people at our country.
"We also are committed to provide to our citizens in the Diaspora the right of representation. We are committed to provide seats at Parliament for representation of Diaspora because only by the political representation the Kosovo Diaspora can fulfill its rights and protect its interests as a part of population with particular concerns, "said Demaku.
For the number of representation, Demaku has said there should be found a pattern and to be present in the Assembly of Kosovo through the legislature and to be represented there.
She has proposed that citizens living in Diaspora can vote in the physical facilities of diplomatic offices, so through consulates and embassies with same conditions as it is done through the patterns made by different countries.
She has also criticized the Ministry of Diaspora, by saying it has more media than substantial activities.
"Unfortunately the establishment of the ministry is delayed and every work is done now is delayed. I see it clearly that they do enough media activities, but not substantial activities. It is spoken about registration, but registration will not be an obstacle or a prerequisite to provide Diaspora better conditions in their lives, "said Demaku.
