The Mayor of Prishtina, Isa Mustafa has held a meeting with citizens in the facility of the municipality in order to listen to their remarks and recommendations for the draft budget of 2013. In this meeting he said that several meetings with citizens were organized in neighborhoods and villages of this municipality on this issue.
“This week we had five other meetings with citizens in five parts of the city. The meetings were held in order to get the proposals and initiatives of citizens on capital projects that we will develop in 2013, because we are preparing the budget,” Mustafa said.
However, the officials of Vetevendosje branch in Prishtina do not share the same opinion. According to them, the initiation of these meetings is good, however they said that there is a trick of municipal officials, as there were no notifications on these meetings.
The head of the subcommittee for administration in frame of the VV branch in Prishtina, Genc Sherifi said in a press conference that the heads of Vetevendosje in neighborhoods and villages were interested to know about organization and holding of these meetings, however he said that there were no notifications.
“On the first sight, it can create the impression of good initiative, however the trick of municipal officials is that the citizens were not informed on the so-called debates with citizens. The heads of Vetevendosje in neighborhoods and villages of Prishtina were interested on notification of citizens about these debates. They have not found notifications in most frequented places of neighborhood and in talks with citizens it was noticed that they were not informed on holding of these debates,” Sherifi said.
