The representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology together with the Tempus Office in Kosova and the European Commission Office presented the results of those who have benefited from the program Tempus IV, where out of 27 applications of public and private universities, by one program have benefited the University of Prishtina, the University of Prizren and a private University, whereas the University of north Mitrovica, which even after 12 years is not integrated in education system of Kosova, has benefited three projects.
The coordinator of Tempus for Kosova, Kimete Canaj has justified this fact with the aim to integrate this university in education system of Kosova.
Three projects are given to University of Mitrovica, which wants to integrate in the structure of higher education in Kosova, Canaj said.
The director of higher education in the Ministry of Education, Naim Hasani said that he has not been aware that the so-called University of Prishtina in north Mitrovica has won three projects. According to him, its integration in education system of Kosova is a political issue.
We are aware that there is a university in northern part that does not recognize Kosovas institutions, however we hope that it will be integrated based on law. In fact, we have the law that provides governance to municipalities as well in higher education. They are obliged to integrate in higher education system, Hasani said.
