To commemorate this moment and to talk about the importance of this moment there were gathered seniors of Ministry of Health, those from UCCK, as well as doctors and workers, that in June 20, 1999, were returned to their workplaces after 10 years of removal and expulsion by Serbian authorities.
Minister of Health, Ferid Agani on this occasion said that June 20, 1999, is very important date and significant for Kosovo health and for the entire Albanian people, saying that after a decade of repression and brutality, together with his colleagues, supported by NATO soldiers, came to the doors of Surgery Clinic of UCCK and met those who were ashamed.
"We are gathered in front of these doors, decisively and proud of our past and we met those who were sitting ashamed in front of us and had not the courage to look at us, for what they have done over 10 years and we went in this institution together with the words, 'In the name of God, in the name of justice which in that day found its realization, in that day it marked the end of an injustice," he said.
The minister Agani, reminded the valuable contribution that Dr. Shpëtim Robaj had given, one of the most distinguished figures in the field of medicine.
Njazi Gashi, Director of Health, which then was a member of headquarter of Brigade 153, in the Llap Operative Zone of KLA, has confessed moments when together with other fellows of UÇK and British KFOR had joined the other doctors and were returned triumphantly in UCCK.
"After many activities throughout the city, the Brigade 153 led by Commander Adam Shehu, Vice Commander Fatmir Sopi and ShemsiVeseli, who was charged with the mission to liberate Prishtina and supported by guerrilla units of ZOLL, Bija on 18. 06. 1999, came in the spaces of UCCK, putting illegal activity of Serbian paramilitary and military waste under control. Reporting every day in ZOLLs headquarters located in Prishtina and UCCK in cooperation with UK KFOR forces, exactly on 20.06.1999 we came in UCCK premises. There were these people who are here, so were you Prof. Usamedin Haxhijaha, prof. Mazllum Belegu, prof. Ferid Agani and so on, Gashi said.
