In a press release is stated that Customs has prevented an attempt of smuggling of goods, respectively of the medicaments and that custom officers during routine patrols, have suspected that a car parked at a restaurant in the Mitrovica region, may have smuggled goods. In cooperation with Kosovo police, the car has been checked from outside, where there were indications that the vehicle has goods inside. The owner of the vehicle has not been found, so that the car was withdrawn and placed in a custom terminal of Mitrovica.
Also in the communication is said that after opening the car at the custom terminal was made the examination of the vehicle and was found a considerable amount of medicaments. The total amount is 1. 689 packs x 30 pills of aspirin type. The value of these goods has not been determined yet. Goods and vehicle were seized and the case in question was submitted to commission for Customs offenses for further proceedings.
