Correctional service to protest in September

They have not received reply on their requests even after several meetings with officials of this ministry, on the requests as payment of night shift, for which they were told that there are no funds.

The head of the trade union of SHKK, Zenun Sadikaj said that if they will not receive any reply from minister Kuçi even after this press conference, they will protest in September, although it is not their will.

“The lack of respect and ignorance, which is worse, and as a result of this we are obliged, although we do not want it, because protest and strike are last options to resolve the problem. However, if they will not undertake any step, we will be obliged to protest,” Sadikaj said.

Their main requests are payment of night shift and to approve the law on employees of correctional service of Kosova.

“The main request is payment of night shift, then the review of request of units (on increase of payment of dangerousness, as the police), to increase the payment of civil staff on dangerousness (for all those who work with prisoners). Other requests are systematization of workplaces according to education, work experience and trainings, also to give the uniforms on time and to be of good quality, to approve the law on SHKK, to pay the work experience, as well to improve food quality and increase level of cleanliness,” Sadikaj said.

The employees of Kosova correctional services receive the salary 215 euro, and together with the dangerousness they receive 350 euro in total.
