Following last night’s incident that happened in north Mitrovica, respectively in neighborhood “Kroi i Vitakut”, where one Serb lost his life and another two Serbs were injured, the leaders of Kosova condemned the incident and called on citizens for calmness.
The deputy prime minister Hajredin Kuçi expressed regret for such an incident and called on justice bodies to carry out their duty in order to know the truth over the case.
“The Government of Kosova expressed regret for such an incident. The Government has condemned the incident and requests from justice bodies to carry out their duty. The interethnic incidents, as well the incidents with other motifs, regardless of what they can be, and in this case, they tense the situation and they do not contribute to activities that we are doing,” Kuçi said.
He expressed confident that justice bodies will carry out their duty and the citizens will have the truth , adding that it will not affect the general situation in that part of Kosova. Kuçi talked as well about the impact that these incidents could have in the dialogue Kosova-Serbia, and said that the issue of dialogue is an issue between both countries, whereas such incidents affect functionalization of Kosova’s state.
The Parliament Speaker of Kosova, Jakup Krasniqi condemned last night’s incident and said that violent actions are unacceptable for a democratic society and they do not contribute to stability in Kosova. He called on Kosova’s citizens for maturity and calmness.
