In the meeting of the Government that was held today, the prime minister Thaçi said that correspondence is going on between the Government of Kosova and Brussels on the role of EULEX and its mandate.
According to him, everything will be in accordance with the agenda and local institutions will be coordinated and harmonized with EULEX, however this mission will not be included in the Constitution of the country.
“One thing is clear that EULEX will not be included in the Constitution, however the final decision will be taken by Kosova’s Parliament, on the presence of EULEX until 2014. A decision with 2/3,” Thaçi said.
Moreover, he said that it is being worked everyday for the process of completion of supervised independence to be finalized within the timeline.
“Now we have entered the final phase on supervision of independence. It is being defined everyday. The days of completion of this process are getting closer. We as government have carried out obligations and I believe that the Parliament as well after the vacation will carry out its obligations on constitutional changes before September,” Thaçi said.
He said that this process is in coordination with the international community, adding that this is as well sign of political and institutional maturity.
