Hoxhaj had promised in a press conference on May 28 that Kosova will be recognized within few days by three countries, however it’s been a month and there was only one recognition.
The political advisor to the minister, Artan Behrami told Kosovapress through the phone that the minister has promised that those recognitions will come and the recognition from Republic of Chad has come. However, after being asked which are the countries that they have announced, he did not give the names of the countries.
“The minister had said that there will be several recognitions of Republic of Kosova within a short period, one recognition has come from Republic of Chad, whereas we are waiting for recognitions from other countries. In these circumstances we are not able to say the names, as it would harm the process, however I believe that it is a matter of time, days, weeks, months and there will be recognitions of Republic of Kosova,” Behrami said.
On the other hand, the former Foreign Minister, Skender Hyseni told Kosovapress through the phone that such announcements are harmful for the process of Kosova’s recognition.
“Announcement of recognitions is a serious damage, whether there were announcements or not, as the announcement for recognition harms the recognition process, or it would make Serbia lobby against recognitions. Thus, announcement is consumed as political action, whereas it is inappropriate as diplomatic action. It harms the process of recognitions. We cannot oblige the countries of the world to recognize us, we should carry out our work, to develop Kosova. The success within Kosova determines the success of recognitions,” Hyseni said.
