The Mayor of Mitrovica, Avni Kastrati said that the support of students of Mitrovica with scholarships has become a traditional event. “In frame of possibilities of the municipality, we will continue supporting students to facilitate the conditions for studies,” Kastrati said.
According to him, the youth should focus on studies, as it is the best way that opens the path to employment. “Considering the new circumstances, the youth should study hard in order to be qualified for jobs, which are created with difficulties,” Kastrati said.
In addition to these 50 scholarships that were allocated for these students for the first time, two months ago the Municipality of Mitrovica has extended the contracts to another 40 students, who have received it in the last year and they have met the conditions for this year as well. The municipal officials said that in addition to the average grade, priority was given as well to war categories and to those with bad economic condition.
However, another aspect that the Municipality of Mitrovica is focused to support the students is as well covering the transport expenses for students of war categories and for those who live in northern part. These two projects were realized with the support of the Directorate for European Integration and Social Welfare.
