Shtėrpca has great potential for producing the raspberries. So was said today in ceremony of donating the investment grants for 47 new entrepreneurs in the municipality of Shtėrpca which were allocated through the program for new entrepreneurs (YEP), of USAID which are intended to improve the productivity of raspberry and advancement of businesses of these entrepreneurs.

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Blerand Stavileci, in this ceremony of distribution of certificates for grants to 47 new entrepreneurs, said that Shtėrpca can be identified wider than its administrative borders with the raspberry cultivation. According to Stavileci the subsector of small trees as raspberries, blackberries and strawberries, in recent years is increasing in our country, and the number of farmers who cultivate the raspberry is increasing more and more.
He said he believes that in this form, with such grants, as well as with support from Government budget and other donors, the entrepreneurial skills of farmers of Shtėrpca and all our country's municipalities, can be increased according to the characteristics , the natural potentials and human resources.
"It is our privilege, that we have many donors, particularly the USAID, which are highly supporting the agricultural sector, as well as many other sectors of the economy. But the focus is agriculture, because we all know that within this sector is easiest to create and allocate new jobs. I believe that the case of today’s grants and other grants in other areas of agriculture, as we had the opportunity also some time ago to have another program with the YEP, for allocating such grants, to enable that with not very large investments to create a stable job.
The same thing we are doing as well, "he said.
While Mayor of Shtėrpca, Bratislav Nikoliē said this is a positive thing for Shtėrpca, as the economic growth and development are very important.
"Economic growth and development are very important for the development of our society. We know in what situation we are and how much is unemployment rate in our municipality. Raspberry production results have indicated that climatic conditions enable better quality of raspberry fruit and raspberry productivity remains one of the main directions of Shtėrpca. In Shtėrpca in previous years was achieved record of production of fruit, "he said.
Also IvanVelkoviē, one of the new farmers, the beneficiary of the grant for the raspberry cultivation, thanked USAID for the assistance provided to new entrepreneurs. He said that with this donation they have been able to expand production of raspberries that for a small municipality such as Shtėrpca is a great success.
