The council of the protest on the issue of cement in cooperation with Mining Trade Union of Albania, is reviewing the possibility to organize a protest this week, with the request to remove the tax worth 35% on cement, which is set by the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Kosova.
The owner of the company “Besimi Commerce”, Hyser Gashi informed through a press release that the protest will be the largest one that has been organized so far, and the places that were discussed to hold the protest are Tirana, Prishtina, border crossing point Vermica and Kalimash tunnel.
“The organizing of the protest is being done because it seems that the minister Kusari-Lila instead of accelerating the procedure of removing the tax and to create free circulation of goods between Albania and Kosova, she is buying time as long as she can, until the end of the season,” reads the press release.
However, few days ago the workers of the company “Besimi Commerce” and its 150 contractors, importers of cement, have protested for one hour in front of the Ministry of Trade and Industry in sign of dissatisfaction, by opposing the decision of Kusari-Lila for cement importers to pay a tariff of 35%.They have stayed with their trucks in front of MTI by requesting from Kusari-Lila and prime minister of Kosova, Hashim Thaçi to suspend this decision, which, according to them, has no economic reason and it is risking the existence of different companies.
