“The period of harvesting 3870 hectares of grain has started a week ago,” said the director of this directorate, Nasuf Aliu, who leads the municipal staff for supervising the harvesting period.
According to him, the process of harvesting period is going well and the farmers are respecting the rules set by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development.
Regarding the amount of grain, Aliu said that it differs depending on locations of the areas planted with rain.
“In the areas of flat land, there were planted over 5000 kg hectare for grain, whereas in other areas it is around 4000 kg per hectare. Based on these information, the farmers of Municipality of Vushtrri have produced 17,415 tons of grain, or approximately over 10000 tons of flour,” Aliu said.
Whereas, the expert of agriculture, Menderes Ibra believes that Vushtrri can produce more grain by increasing the planted areas.
