The establishment of joint market between both countries is being jeopardized by setting economic barriers by Albania and Kosova.
Firstly, it was Albania that set the tax on potato last year. Now the Government of Kosova set the tax worth 35% on import of cement, and most of the cement is imported from Albania. As a reply, Albania as well is showing reciprocity signs to Kosova by stopping wheat.
These actions of both governments, according to Confederation of Albania Industries, are impeding the establishment of a joint market.
In addition, the Confederation of Albania Industries evaluated that these barriers are devaluing as well the investments worth around 2 billion euro on the highway.
The Confederation expresses the concern on the delays and legal obstacles of Government of Albania and Government of Kosova, which are impeding the establishment of the nationwide 7 million market as a necessity for economic development and welfare of Albanian citizens, said the general administrator of the Confederation of Albania Industries, Gjergj Buxhuku.
