Company for privatization of the distribution of KEC is obliged in the next 20 years to purchase all electricity produced in Kosovo, and only if it is not enough can purchase it from other countries. At this meeting it was said that workers have their workplace ensured also for the next three years, but will be dismissed only those who do not work well, and this will happen individually but never in group.
Regarding to commercial losses it was said that in first three years they will be reduced to 3%, while there were also those who criticized the ongoing process of privatization.
Çalik-Limak representatives have said that the problem of meters in the north is due to political instability, promising to create effective solutions by establishing the points for installation of meters to fight the theft of electricity.
Minister Beqaj said there was no guarantee provided to the company for subsidizing losses.
According to him, the winning company in the medium term will invest up to 300 million euro.
Beqaj: The company invests 300 million euro, reduces commercial losses to 3%
"The winning company will be entering the investment in a medium term approximately 300 million euro, but also it was charged with a task to make reduction in the percentage of commercial losses in the first three years approximately to 3% and in the second three years to 2.5 %. We have required and the company has accepted, we have offered three-year contract for distribution workers, "he said.
While the representatives of Çalik-Limak have said that the problem of meters in the north is due to political instability, promising to create effective solutions by establishing the points for installation of meters to fight the theft of electricity.
They said they expect from KEC but also from the Government of Kosovo to support operations of the consortium to find a solution in Mitrovica, thus creating opportunities for communication with the citizens of that part.
Among other things, they have given guarantee to workers they will be constantly at work if they are effective.
The representative of Çalik-Limak: the workers will be dismissed only when they do not work properly
"We cannot bring workers from the universe we should employ those living in Kosovo. Those who work at KEC are the only resource we have. Dismissal of people does not solve problems. We must train them, to increase their capacity of work, to raise their experience level so that they can further proceed. Dismissal is not a good solution. Of course the low performance can result to the dismissal, but we are talking about individual cases never in group, "he said.
But Haki Abazi said that ongoing process has been without consensus.
Abazi: There was no complete consensus
"It is not true that in Kosovo there is a complete consensus on how the privatization process of distribution has gone and we can all be silent and think that there are no problems," he said.
In this particular public session there were many questions and discussions, where Minister Beqaj answered to many of them.
For all questions addressed by civil society, he had an answer and always in defense of what Governmental Committee has done so far for this process. / T.GASHI/
