The head of "Fol" movement Petrit Zogaj, has expressed his disappointment with the draft law that the Ministry of Justice names as "Law on confiscation of property gained by criminal offense", not taking into consideration all the recommendations of civil society.
"We have been invited and have been active in the beginning of drafting of the law on confiscation of property gained illegally, while the Ministry of Justice says 'the wealth gained by criminal offense'. Maybe this was our first point of conflict, which continued further and which in large extent has made us to withdraw from a group that is initiated by KDI and we continued further, he said.
He said that MPs are quite willing to discuss in advance the draft-law before submitting it to the relevant committees, to discuss what has been impossible to be done with the Ministry of Justice. He said that civil society says that the property created after the war must be investigated, while, according to him, the Ministry of Justice opposes such a thing.
While the MP of Assembly of Kosovo from Vetëvendosje movement, Albulena Haxhiu said on this occasion that when corruption in Kosovo is booming day by day, the Ministry of Justice and the Kosovo government bring a draft-law, which in her opinion, is "amnesty" for assets gained illegally, for crime and corruption, but it does not fight them in any way.
"At a time when corruption in Kosovo is increasing every day more and more from the local level to central one, we instead to complete the legislative package anti-corruption, a draft law is brought to us by the Ministry of Justice and the Government, which according to my opinion, has to do with amnesty of the wealth gained illegally, dealing with crime and corruption amnesty and this drat-law does not to fight the corruption at all" she said.
