Satisfied with the sale of strawberries

One of the 15 strawberry growers that are participating in the strawberry fair, Blerim Shefkiu from Gjilan, said he is satisfied with the interest of citizens for local consumption of domestic strawberry. He has requested from citizens to consume more domestic products, as he considers them as qualitative and protected products.

“The interest is great, but also the quality is quite good. This year we were much better prepared than in previous years, both in packaging and in the preparation of the logos of the fruit of Kosovo, where the citizens have expressed a very great curiosity. We should consume local products because they are more qualitative, because we as an association for four years apply integrated protection and it is more reliable than what comes from Macedonia,” he said.

The “Strawberries 2012" Fair, in addition to serving for promotion of domestic products, it has also been profitable for strawberry growers. Flamur Syla, a strawberry grower from the Tërrnoc village of the municipality of Skenderaj told Kosovapress that during only the last two days , he has sold approximately one thousand kilos of strawberries.

“The interest of the citizens is great. Since two days we have sold about 1000 kilos here in the square. The strawberry price is two euros per kilo. Domestic strawberries are fresh and we recommend consumers to consume more domestic strawberries,” Syla said.

The interest of citizens for local products is quite large, but they request more quality and safety of products. Gani Idrizi, who had come from the town of Vitia, said that domestic products are more reliable than those imported from other states. According to him, citizens must be convinced that domestic products are better and cheaper, however his demand is not to import any product that can be produced in Kosovo.
